City toasts Fringe benefits as festival-goers fill hotels

HOTELS in Scotland's capital are close to capacity on the eve of the launch of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Hotel managers across the city said they are all but fully booked for the whole of this month as people flock to the world’s biggest arts festival.

With the International Festival getting under way next week, the Edinburgh Hoteliers’ Association, which represents 40 hotels in the capital, said most of the 145,000 rooms available through the association had been snapped up.
