Around a dozen hand-picked Strathclyde officers have been trained in the enforcement of issues surrounding alcohol and will begin getting to grips with almost 700 individual drink-related “hot-spots” throughout the city.
The Herald understands that as well as premises selling to underage drinkers and drunks, venues linked with organised crime will be targeted and everything from the electrical meters to television sport subscriptions will be checked.
