Clapping Asbo man is charged

A MAN banned from laughing or clapping in public under a court order has been charged with breaching it.

Stuart Hunt has been subject to the interim Anti-Social Behaviour Order, or Asbo, since 2007 as part of a dispute with neighbours Stuart and Shirley Latham over their shared access road.

It bans Mr Hunt from laughing, clapping slowly, staring, waving objects or being rude or insulting in public.

The 49-year-old is due in court next month accused of breaching the order outside his home in Drumnadrochit on the banks of Loch Ness on August 20.

The charge against him states: "You did shout, insult others and were unpleasant, rude and argumentative." Mr Hunt denies the charge.
