The move follows claims made this week that senior partner David Grier knew about the deal to buy the club with money raised from selling season ticket rights to Ticketus.

The Insolvency Practitioner Association (IPA) is looking into the claims following a BBC documentary on Wednesday, which claimed that Mr Grier – who helped Craig Whyte smooth through his takeover of the club – was also party to discussions with Ticketus to supply the funds that cleared the way for the buyout. The appointment of Duff & Phelps to oversee the financially stricken club's affairs in February came about at the instigation of Mr Whyte, who went to court to prevent HMRC from bringing in their preferred insolvency experts.
