Coach gets MBE for his devotion to disabled swimmers

SWIMMING coach Edward McCluskey said he was "very, very humbled" to receive his MBE after 30 years of helping disabled people enjoy the freedom of the water.

Mr McCluskey has taught at the Port Glasgow Otters since the 1980s and has taken swimmers with physical and learning disabilities to five separate Olympic Games.

The 62-year-old, from Greenock, said he felt as if he didn’t deserve to receive an honour for a career that had been so rewarding.
