INFANT mental health and child protection experts are to come together to call for more early intervention to prevent child abuse.

The Beyond Boundaries event in Glasgow held by the NSPCC Scotland and WithScotland will encourage professionals to work across boundaries to improve the life chances of children.

Matt Forde, NSPCC National Head of Service, said: "Every human relationship is degraded when we consider adverse childhood experiences as just something that some children will inevitably face.

"Ending child abuse might be an immense target, but it's at the heart of how we build a better Scotland."

Speakers at Glasgow's Marriot Hotel on June 11-12 include Highland Council's director of health and social care Bill Alexander and Dr Graham Bryce, clinical director of Glasgow Infant and Family Team.
