Consultation on circus animals

A GOVERNMENT consultation has been launched on a potential ban on wild animals in travelling circuses despite no such cases in Scotland.

Rural Affairs Secretary Richard Lochhead said the move follows concerns about cases elsewhere in the UK. Animal charity OneKind, which has campaigned for action, said it would help frame tough legislation.
