Cost of alcohol problems revealed

Alcohol-related harm could cost more than £1000 per person in Scotland's largest council, new figures have revealed.

For the first time ever, Alcohol Focus Scotland has produced a regional breakdown revealing in which parts of Scotland the problem costs the most.

The Glasgow City Council area tops the list, with alcohol-related harm costing £364.79 million – or £615 per person – in 2010-11.
