Councillor in call to paint the town

A CALL has gone out for Fort William to take a leaf out of Tobermory's book and give its waterfront buildings a splash of colour.

A "Balamory-style" makeover is being proposed to brighten up the "awful" waterfront of the town, the so-called outdoor capital of the UK and the largest town in the Highlands.

Councillors say "the backsides of the buildings" looking out on to the A82 bypass road should be given a splash of colour just like Tobermory on Mull, which became famous through the children's television show Balamory.
