Two men accused of plotting to murder former high profile figures in the Ulster Defence Association (UDA) were photographed by an undercover police officer pacing up and down a street, a court has been told.

Antoin Duffy and John Gorman were seen in conversation walking up and down the road near Mr Duffy's home several times for about 10 minutes on June 11 2013.

The pair are among four men on trial for plotting to murder against Johnny Adair and Sam McCrory, former key members of the UDA and its military wing the Ulster Freedom Fighters.

Jurors heard that surveillance was carried out on Mr Duffy, of Glasgow, for six months that year.

The jury was shown photographs taken of the June 11 meeting between Mr Duffy and Mr Gorman.

In court ,DC Derrick identified the men in the images as being two of the accused.

DC Derrick said he had been carrying out surveillance on Mr Sands who was seen at Buchanan bus station in Glasgow with Mr Duffy on October 23 2013, when a number of people were arrested in connection with terrorism offences.

He confirmed that he was later made aware that Mr Duffy and Mr Sands had been arrested.

Mr Duffy, 39, Mr Gorman, 58, Martin Hughes, 36, Paul Sands, 31 and Gorman, 58 , all deny conspiring to murder Mr Adair and Mr McCrory.

Mr Duffy and Mr Gorman also deny being part of a plan to murder the governor of Barlinnie jail Derek McGill in a car bomb attack.

Three other men deny organised crime charges. The trial continues.
