Scottish musician Jack Bruce, best known as the bassist with '60's band Cream, has left £184,000 in his will.

Records show that Bruce, who passed away last October, left his estate to his family, which includes four children and one grand-daughter.

The 71-year-old, who was born in Glasgow, lived with second wife Margrit [cor] near Sudbury, Suffolk, and had battled liver cancer since 2003.

Regarded as one of the best bass guitarists in the world, he played in Cream alongside guitarist Eric Clapton and drummer Peter "Ginger" Baker.

He wrote and sang some of the groups best known hits, Sunshine of Your Love, White Room and I Feel Free.

Born in Bishopbriggs on May 14, 1943 to a factory worker father and a mother who worked in a bakery and as a hospital cleaner, Bruce grew up in a council flat and was a gifted musician from an early age.

A classically trained cellist, Bruce was also a multi-instrumentalist and accomplished jazz musician, and as a songwriter and composer he saw his work covered by artists as varied as Jimi Hendrix, Ella Fitzgerald, David Bowie and Foo Fighters.
