Customer criticism of banks soars due to PPI

SCOTS banks were among the biggest targets for consumers as complaints about services nearly doubled in some cases, according to new data.

They were among the most moaned about in Britain as complaints across the board soared due to issues with payment protection insurance, figures for the second half of 2011 showed.

The Royal Bank of Scotland was the eighth most complained about financial institution with 103,385 complaints, nearly double the number in the previous year, the Financial Services Authority said.
