Barbara Anderson, 51, who used a wheelchair and suffered from spina bifida, had a Telecare unit in her flat in Inverness.
The system, designed to automatically alert a call centre, failed when fire broke out on 6 August. The reason for the failure is unknown and the incident remains under police investigation.
Yesterday NHS Highland refused to discuss the incident, citing the ongoing police investigation. However, a spokeswoman said: "We have taken a pro-active approach to review all Telecare equipment as a precautionary measure."
