Deer hunt charges for teenager

A teenager has been charged in connection with alleged illegal deer hunting with dogs at a city golf course.

Police searched a house in Swallow Gardens in the Knightswood area of Glasgow yesterday morning and seized three deer skulls and two illegal snares.

It came after allegations of illegal deer hunting by dogs within Knightswood Golf Course.

The 19-year-old male faces charges under the Protection of Wildlife Mammals Act and Wildlife and Countryside Act.

A report has been sent to the procurator-fiscal, Strathclyde Police said.

It is thought two dogs allegedly involved were not taken from the property.
