A 21-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested and charged in connection with the discovery of cocaine and pills which may contain a potentially lethal substance.

The man was charged after "dealer quantities" of cocaine and pills were found by police at an address in Prestonpans, near Edinburgh.

Police seized around 1700 pink tablets which have a cherry symbol on one side and sent them for analysis to check if they contain a "dangerous" substance known as AMT or 5-IT. They said: "Anyone who has consumed them and begins to feel unwell is urged to seek immediate medical attention."
