Detectives investigate murder of man in Glasgow

A murder inquiry has been launched after a man was found dead in his flat.

The body of Paul Cunningham, 35, was discovered at his home in Glasgow's Aberdour Street in the Dennistoun area on Monday evening.

Strathclyde Police say they are treating his death as murder following a post-mortem examination.

The force is now trying to piece together Mr Cunningham's last known movements in a bid to trace his killer.Detective Chief Inspector Colin Carey said: "Extensive inquiries are being carried out in the local area and officers are currently studying CCTV footage in an effort to gather further information that may assist with this investigation."He was last seen in the local area around 11am on Friday February 8 by a friend and I am anxious to speak to anyone who saw him after this, or anyone who knew of his whereabouts over the past weekend."Officers are also working to gather as much information as possible on Mr Cunningham, including details on his lifestyle and the people he associated with."I would ask anyone who knew him and who has not yet spoken to police, to contact us as they may have information that will help our inquiry."
