Disney's Greyfriars Bobby model sold

A 140-year-old gift from Walt Disney used to create the bronze statue of Greyfriars Bobby has been sold for £3100.

The original plaster model of Edinburgh's famous Skye terrier was auctioned off yesterday at Lyon and Turnbull in the capital.

The prototype of the dog, who is said to have watched over his master's grave in the city's Greyfriars Churchyard, was bought by the Skye Terrier Club.
