A violent drunk who terrified his former partner in a series of domestic abuse incidents has been jailed for four months.

Steven Weir terrified the woman by turning up at her house and threatening her.

He once locked her out of her own home after she went to the shops and greeted her with a torrent of abuse when she returned, the court heard.

Weir, 38, of Fauldhouse, West Lothian, appeared at Livingston Sheriff Court yesterday after admitting behaving in a threatening and abusive manner and smashing a display cabinet and its contents on December 22.

He also admitted breaching bail conditions.

Sentencing, Sheriff Douglas Kinloch told himthat he faced imprisonment."
