A FORMER bank manager who drove prostitutes to their meetings with men wanting their services has been ordered to hand over £6,500 to prosecutors.

Ian Goalen, 60, was told to hand over the cash following a Proceeds Of Crime hearing at the High Court, Edinburgh.

The former yacht club commodore worked for Scots vice boss Margaret "Madam Moneybags" Paterson and her business partner Robert Munro, both 61.

The pair ran a brothel and escorts business in the west end of Edinburgh that was worth £1.2 million.

When police raided her home in the city in September 2011, detectives discovered £200,000 in cash and sex toys.

They also found evidence that established Paterson had spent £500,000 on designer handbags, shoes and clothes.

Paterson and Munro were both jailed for five years in July 2013 while Goalen was ordered to perform 150 hours of community service.

Goalen, of North Berwick, East Lothian, yesterday agreed to hand over £6,500 to Crown Office lawyers.

Police established he drove girls to meetings with clients in Edinburgh, Glasgow, West Lothian, and Newcastle Upon Tyne. Before becoming a driver, Goalen had been sacked from his bank manager job for gross misconduct.

Prosecution advocate Barry Divers told the court investigators had established Goalen had made £6,500 from criminal activities.

Judge Lord Armstrong told Goalen to pay the sum to the sheriff clerk's office at Haddington Sheriff Court within six months.
