Drivers warned as snow returns to Scotland's roads

Motorists have been urged to take care on the roads today as snow and ice created hazardous conditions in many parts of the country.

Blizzards swept across Scotland yesterday and further heavy snow and freezing temperatures were forecast overnight, causing potential difficulties for this morning's rush hour.

Temperatures dropped to as low as -12C at Aboyne, and almost nowhere saw figures rise above zero.
