Drum marine on a roll

ROYAL Marine Graham Stephenson was feeling beat after smashing the world record for the longest individual drum roll.

Sergeant Bugler Stephenson, 40, shattered the previous record - 12 hours and three seconds - when he stopped at 14 hours.

The drummer, originally from Hull, but now based at Rosyth in Fife, was permitted five-minute breaks every hour. He is now a double world record holder - he was one of the Royal Marines' Corps of Drums which successfully smashed the group drum roll record in May this year.
