Edinburgh eateries to close doors

TWO well-known Edinburgh restaurants will serve for the last time this weekend due to the grim economic climate.

Seadogs and Underdogs will cease trading tomorrow in the latest blow to the capital's dining scene.

A Twitter post from the restaurants said: "The decision is made. Seadogs and Underdogs will close for the last time on Sunday. God knows how hard we have tried. Thanks to all!"

David Ramsden, who has two further restaurants in his portfolio, spoke in January about the tough conditions facing restaurateurs in the capital as he moved to put Seadogs on the market.

Earlier this month, the owner of Oloroso, another capital restaurant, said it was to close amid "challenging" trading conditions.
