Edinburgh festival ticket sales exceed £2.6m

The Edinburgh International Festival (EIF) issued more than 140,000 tickets this year, it was revealed yesterday.

However, discounting guest, staff, special offer and competition tickets, the EIF sold 135,793 tickets.

This was slightly up on 2009, when the event sold 134,444.
