Edinburgh murder victim, 31, named

A man who was attacked and later died in hospital has been named by police.

Robbie Morrison, 31, was the victim of a serious assault in Dumbryden Gardens in Wester Hailes, Edinburgh, at about 4.30pm on Friday.

He was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary but died yesterday.

Police launched a murder investigation following his death and appealed for any witnesses or anyone with information to contact officers.

Detective Inspector Grant Johnston said: ''A member of the public may hold a key piece of information that could assist with the investigation."
