A nursery has been temporarily closed after the sudden death of a 13-month-old girl.

An ambulance was called to the Careshare nursery in Morrison Street, Edinburgh, yesterday afternoon when it was discovered that the child was not breathing.

The girl was taken to the city's Sick Kids Hospital but later died, police said.

The nursery has been closed while the full circumstances are investigated.
