The Tory-LibDem Coalition will outline plans today to ensure customers get the cheapest electricity and gas prices.
Sources said there would be no watering down of David Cameron's pledge to legislate "so that energy companies have to give the lowest tariff to their customers".
There had been signals the Coalition Government would hold back from going that far.
