Eton to back state boarding school

ETON College, whose alumni include several prime ministers and royals, is to back a new state boarding school.

The top private school will be the educational sponsor of the free Holyport College. It is due to open in September next year and will cater for 500 pupils, including up to 225 boarders – with those parents taking up that option being charged £4000 per term.
