French music veteran Charles Aznavour is to play his first UK concert for a quarter of a century with a one-off show.
The 89-year-old star, famed for songs such as She and The Old Fashioned Way, will perform at London's Royal Albert Hall in October.
Aznavour has appeared on almost 300 albums and continues to play around 100 live shows each year.
As well as his recording career, which spans in excess of 60 years and has resulted in more than 100 million record sales, he has appeared in 80 movies including The Tin Drum.
Singer-songwriter Aznavour, who is of Armenian heritage and was born Shahnour Vaghenag Aznavourian in Paris, has recorded in seven languages, and his songs have been performed over the years by the likes of Elvis Costello, Fred Astaire, Sting, Ray Charles, Bing Crosby and Sir Tom Jones.
The concert will be staged at the Royal Albert Hall on October 25. Last year the same venue hosted a performance by another French superstar, Johnny Hallyday, who made his first UK appearance in his 50-plus years as one of his country's biggest music names.
