Ex-JP in vote bid

A FORMER justice of the peace who resigned to set up a campaign against knife crime will stand as an independent candidate at the Scottish Parliament elections.

Caroline Johnstone, 48, quit her position in the legal system after the death of teenager Reamonn Gormley, who was stabbed as he made his way home from a pub in Blantyre, South Lanarkshire, on February 1.
