A VIABLE pipe bomb-type device has been discovered near a police station in Northern Ireland.
Elderly residents were evacuated from their homes in Tandragee, Co Armagh following the security alert.
Army technical officers examined the object close to the gates of the town's police station, a short distance south of Portadown.
