JENNIFER Saunders and Judy Craymer, the theatrical impresario behind the success of Mamma Mia!, became honorary Spice Girls for the day as the group were reunited to launch a stage musical inspired by the band's songs.

Viva Forever, which was written by Saunders and features the hit singles released by Mel C, Mel B, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton and Victoria Beckham, is due to open at the Piccadilly Theatre in London's West End on December 11.

The group, who were back together for the first time since they completed their 2008 reunion tour, said they were thrilled to see each other again and found the musical an "exciting" project. Picture: Ian West/PA
