Dr Clark Sharp; epidemiologist and Scotland rugby team doctor;

Dr John Clarkson Macgregor Sharp, who has died aged 78 after a long illness, had the good fortune to fill his life with his two other great loves outside his family: medicine and rugby.

One of the UK’s leading epidemiologists, an expert on infectious diseases, Clark Sharp, as he was always known, was a team doctor for the Scottish rugby team for more than 30 years, often travelling with them.
