Family is 'bereft' as body found in village

The family of a man missing since Hogmanay have said they are "utterly bereft" at the discovery of his body.

George McDonald, 51, disappeared from his home in Alloa, Clackmannanshire on Hogmanay last year.

Police said his remains were found in the village of Saline, Fife.

In February, Mr McDonald's sister-in-law Jean McDonald, 30, appealed for the public's help in finding him, describing the month since his disappearance as a living hell.
