THE family of a Scottish woman killed in a hit and run crash in Canada face a two and a half month wait to see if the man accused of causing her death will be found guilty.

The trial of Cory Sater -the driver accused of killing Dundee born Charlene Reaveley and another woman at the side of a road in British Columbia - concluded yesterday but a judge at New Westminster Supreme Court will not give his verdict until January 3.

Sater, 40, faces a total of 10 charges over the crash that killed Ms Reaveley, as well as Lorraine Cruz, on February 19, 2011.

At the close of his trial he pleaded guilty to failing to stop at the scene of an accident. But he denies other charges including impaired driving causing death and dangerous driving causing death and dangerous driving causing bodily harm.
