Famous spectators gripped by match ... except Mrs Beckham

THE Duchess of Cambridge and her sister Pippa Middleton could barely contain their emotions as Andy Murray tried to become the first Brit to win the Wimbledon men's singles since Fred Perry in 1936.

His form in the gripping opening exchanges had Kate Middleton gasping in the Royal Box.

The Duchess of Cambridge, a keen tennis fan, chatted excitedly at times with her sister and gazed intently during play, her "oohs and aahs" echoing the reactions of thousands of other fans on the court. The Duke of Kent was also in attendance.
