Fans injured in M8 collision

Six people have been taken to hospital after a motorway crash involving a Hearts supporters' bus and a lorry, police said.

The accident happened on the eastbound M8, at junction six Newhouse, shortly after 4am. Strathclyde Police said an HGV and the supporters' bus were in collision as the fans were returning from Hearts' Europa League clash against Liverpool at Anfield.

Six people were taken to hospital with minor injuries – three to Monklands Hospital and three to Wishaw General Hospital.
