ANY rivalry between Rangers and Celtic was put aside when a ferry due to carry fans from the Western Isles broke down.

The Lewis and Harris Rangers Supporters Club had hoped to travel yesterday afternoon from Stornoway to Ullapool on their way to today's third division match against Annan Athletic at Ibrox, while on Harris some Celtic fans were due to catch the 7am ferry today from Lewis to Wester Ross.

It was feared the ferry might not be sailing, so seven of the Celtic supporters re-arranged their trip to go from Tarbert to Skye, which could have left them at Uig.

However, the Rangers fans, who had also decided to go by Skye, got wind of their problem and gave them a lift part of the way to Inverness.
