THE father of a Scots air stewardess who fell to her death from a Dubai high-rise block has claimed his daughter was murdered.

Evelyn Clarke, originally from Irvine, North Ayrshire, fell 150ft from the eighth-floor window of the tower block.

Moments before, the 28-year-old was reportedly seen running barefoot in the building screaming: "Someone's trying to kill me."

Her father, Edward, 60, has spoken of his torment and believes his daughter's death, on April 8, was murder.

He said: "I think it is a nightmare that I will wake up from and she will bound in the door to see me. What makes it worse is there is someone out there who knows what happened – that's the most heart-breaking thing."

Miss Clarke was found dead at the bottom of the Afar building, in Bur Dubai, at 4.25am. Initially reports claimed she was drunk and the fall was an accident but tests revealed she only had four drinks in her system.

Mr Clarke and his wife, Maryann, 55, travelled out to Dubai to meet officials.

Mr Clarke said two men, from Aberdeen, had seen the Emirates air stewardess with an "aggressive man".

He said: "We think he maybe offered to drive her home but she has panicked and jumped out of the car. We have to get some answers."

The family's MP Brian Donohoe has taken up the case with the Foreign Office.

Officials in Dubai were not available for comment.
