Fears for city trade if parking spaces are axed

MOVES to make one of Scotland’s busiest shopping districts more pedestrian-friendly could cost shops and restaurants millions of pounds in trade, business leaders warned last night.

Part of the Edinburgh City Council proposal is to remove the “clutter” of bus stops, signposts, flagpoles and railings from Princes Street, and has been widely welcomed so far.
