Feathered fun

ANIMAL education officer Laura Rennie keeps an eye on Sui the galah cockatoo at a Highland games event inspired by the Katie Morag children's books.

The festivities on North Kelvin Meadow in Glasgow - a community green space under threat from developers - also involved a tug of war, caber tossing and Katie Morag storytelling with the author's daughter, Tamara Hedderwick.

Members of the local community are fighting to stop homes being built on the green space. Picture: Robert Perry
