Finalists in book awards compete for top title and prize of £30,000

FOUR authors will go head to head for the biggest literary prize in Scotland after being named finalists in the Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust Book Awards 2012.

Ali Smith, Janice Galloway, Angus Peter Campbell and Simon Stephenson all won top place in their respective categories, and will now vie for the title of Book of the Year and the £30,000 prize.

Spread across four sections –Fiction, Non-Fiction, Poetry and First Book – the Awards recognise and reward the literary talent of authors who either come from or live in Scotland, or those whose books are of particular Scottish interest.
