As parts of the country prepared for a return of winter weather, firefighters in other areas were keeping a watch for heath fires.
A series of wildfires started in the West Highlands earlier this week in dry weather, as the east of the country battled snow.
A large grass fire threatened homes, stables and the railway line in Oban, with crews from four stations across Argyll fighting through the night to bring the blaze under control.
