Hearts may be plumbing the financial depths but a fan of their city rivals, Hibernian, has plenty to smile about after scooping £1m in the EuroMillions Millionaire raffle.

Jane Park, 17, from Midlothian, managed to win the Millionaires Raffle jackpot with her first EuroMillions ticket on Friday, July 26.

The win makes her one of Scotland's youngest National Lottery winners.

The Hibs fan waited until Sunday morning to check her numbers and was shocked when she found out that her Millionaire Raffle code was a winner.

Jane, who works as a membership development assistant at the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations, said: "I just popped into a newsagent and decided to try a Lucky Dip for EuroMillions. I kept saying to all my friends that I could be sitting on £1m and now I really am.

"I sat for about 15 minutes with my heart racing checking the code over and over. I even went to the shop to get them to check it for me. It wasn't until I phoned Camelot and they confirmed it that I actually believed it."

Jane bought her winning ticket at Eastern Union on Broughton Street, Edinburgh.

She now plans to treat herself to a new house, a customised white Range Rover with pink interior and a Hibs season ticket. However, she has no intention of giving up her job with SCVO following the win.

She said: "I really enjoy my work and I certainly don't want to leave them short-handed. I still intend to work but my win means I can really think about what I might like to do in the future."

Jane was one of 100 UK millionaires created during the special EuroMillions draw on Friday, July 26.
