CONSENT is being sought for one of the most significant offshore wind farms in Scottish waters.
The scheme, at Inch Cape Wind Farm in the Outer Firth of Tay, would see up to 213 turbines, the tallest more than 700ft, installed across an area more than twice the size of Dundee.
Inch Cape, the old name for the Bell Rock, is being planned by Inch Cape Offshore Limited, the company formed by Repsol Nuevas Energias UK Limited (Repsol) and EDP Renováveis SA (EDPR).
It announced yesterday it had submitted consent applications to Marine Scotland.
Ronnie Bonnar, managing director of Repsol UK, said: "This represents another major step towards development of offshore wind power in the outer Firth of Tay."
