FIVE men have been taken to hospital after a serious car crash in Ayrshire.

Two cars - a Ford Fiesta and an Audi - were involved in a head-on collision on the A77 in Ballantrae at around 8.30pm on Monday. The 18-year-old driver of the Ford suffered serious injuries and was taken to the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow. His 19-year-old passengers were taken to Ayr Hospital.

The 32-year-old who was driving the Audi and his 60-year-old passenger were also taken to Ayr Hospital. They are said to be in a stable condition.
