FRIENDS and teammates of a young footballer who collapsed an died on the pitch have played fundraising match in his honour.

Jamie Skinner, 13, died just before Christmas while playing in a match for amateur side Tynecastle FC.

The teenager, who was formerly a member of the Heart of Midlothian youth team, became unwell during the match and was rushed to hospital, but all efforts to save him failed.

Darren Clegg led out teams for the Jamie Skinner Memorial Select game at Double Hedges Park in Edinburgh yesterday, which was in aid of the British Heart Foundation.
