Forces hope to roll out digital pads

POLICE hope a £2 million pilot scheme to save officers time by using electronic notebooks will be rolled out across the country if successful.

Traditional notebooks are being replaced with electronic pads in a bid to save time and cut down on paperwork.

Officers in Govan can use the hi-tech equipment to take down witness statements and accident reports, which can then be downloaded on to a computer.
