Rosal Forest in north Sutherland is being sold by Forestry Commission Scotland and comes with a price tag of £1.85 million.
The 6356-acre woodland is based in the Strathnaver area where locals were driven from their homes during the Highland Clearances in the 1800s. Although many were resettled on the coast, others emigrated abroad.
Many historical landmarks from this period still remain on the land, including the ruined settlements of Rosal Village and Truderscaig in the south.
John Clegg & Co partner, Patrick Porteous, who is dealing with the sale, said the forest would be a great investment for a buyer interested in habitat management.
