Former PM Brown’s brother quits over axing of church publishers

The brother of former Prime Minister Gordon Brown has quit a Church of Scotland committee in protest at a move to cut its historic publishing arm.

John Brown, a lay member of the Kirk’s Publishing Committee, which runs the 50-year-old St Andrew Press, resigned his post yesterday as the plans were approved last night.
