THREE adults and an eight-year-old boy are being treated in hospital after two cars were in a head-on crash.

A black Fiat Punto and blue Vauxhall Astra crashed on the B925 between Kirkcaldy and Auchtertool in Fife on Sunday.

A 31-year-old woman driving of the Punto suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries, while a 52-year-old man driving the Astra sustained minor injuries.

Another woman, 31, and an eight-year-old boy who were passengers in the Punto were also hurt, Fife Police said.

The three adults are being treated at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy and the boy is at the Sick Kids Hospital in Edinburgh. Police said his injuries are not serious.
